Head Coach Bill Gott stated at the end of the season: “This team is made up of a tremendous group of boys.
They formed the best defensive unit ever to come out of Stagg. They lost a battle along the way and had their backs to the wall for the remaining four weeks. Even with some key injuries, they could not be beaten. They are definitely champions and what better description could be given of these young men. They will be remembered as a truly outstanding Stagg football squad.” The All-CCC team included: Ron Eayrs, Bill Campbell, Dave Baker, Hank Jacques, Steve Scott, Ken Hillman, Bob Fender, and Mike Artozqui.
